Ron Simon

Chief Executive Officer.

The 1984 Olympics. The 1992 Super Bowl. The 1994 World Cup Soccer match. What do they all have in common? Two things. They're among the most high-profile events in the world -- and Ron Simon supervised electrical installation and labor at all three. When Ron founded Hi-Tech Electric in 2000, it did more than just build upon a 45-year family business history that began at the pioneering convention-services firms Expo-Tech and West Coast Lighting. It marked the fruition of a 30-year professional career as one of the most accomplished individuals in the electrical/tradeshow/convention industry.

Hi-Tech's work reflects Ron's experience from around the nation. Detroit, MI: where, as electrical manager at Cobo Hall, he was responsible for the successful installation of the Detroit International Auto Show. Tulare, CA: where he designed and implemented the underground cabling system for the 2.1-million-square-foot World Ag Expo, the world's largest farm-equipment show. Atlantic City, NJ, and Washington, DC: where he launched the electrical-services contracting for those cities' newly constructed showcase convention centers.

Extraordinary projects are Ron's specialty -- such as lighting up the Long Beach Grand Prix with temporary electrical installation on all the city streets surrounding the convention center. Or setting up the Atlantic City Pool and Spa Show with more than 100 fill-and-drain installations. Or installing the entirety of San Francisco's SIBOS show with no under-carpet wiring, instead running all connections creatively through exhibit-hall trusses.

Ron has also provided consultation to the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City, the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, the World Congress Convention Center in Atlanta, and the Miss America Pageant. He is a licensed master electrician (DC) and electrical contractor (DC/NJ/CA).
